Spanish 1 & 2 for High School Credit.
Spanish 1 & 2 for Credit are Elective classes offered by El Jardin and Lanterns Global. Spanish 1 & 2 for Credit is a 4-hour drop-off (split between two days) Homeschool Support program for children ages 10-15 located on our 2.4 acre plot at the Carpinteria Children’s Farm on the beautiful Carpinteria bluffs. Spanish 1 & 2 for Credit classes are taught by our amazing Maestra, Maestra Leanne who has decades of experience teaching children the wonders of Spanish through academic and conversational Spanish stlyes. Spanish 1 & 2 for Credit will allow students who successfully complete the course to receive homeschool credit to pass all state standards for Spanish 1 or 2 (depending on the class enrolled into), World Language Standards for High School Credit on their transcripts. Students will be working though a High School Spanish textbook during class. The 4 hours of Spanish 1 & 2 for Credit classes are broken up into 2 hours on Thursday mornings and 2 hours on Friday mornings, with HW given out on Fridays, to be worked on throughout the weekend and week until students meet again the following week.
Spanish 1 & 2 for HS Credit were purposefully scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays, so that they could be perfectly coupled with our El Jardin Spanish Immersion classes. Students who are in the Spanish 1 & 2 for Credit classes, would fit in very well into our Secundaria grade-level class at El Jardin. El Jardín is a four-hour drop-off Spanish immersion experience for children grades K-8th located in Carpinteria. DETAILS:
We meet Thursdays and Friday at the Carp Children’s Farm in Carpinteria. This is a 2 day a week class, that works extremely well in conjunction with our 4 hour, El Jardin Spanish Immersion program that runs directly after the the Spanish 1 class. Most students who join us for Spanish 1 & 2 from 10-12, stay for EL Jardin which runs from 10:00-2:00 on Thursdays and Fridays. You can join us for one day of EL Jardin or for both days of EL Jardin.
Spanish 1 & 2 are year-long programs, with fall and spring semesters, meeting 10-12 on Thursday and Fridays (Must come both days and both semesters).

Summer Camps
We will be running our Tides Ocean Adventure Summer Camps instead of our El Jardin summer camps this year. Come and join us for fun and safe outdoor sports, beach play, and learning about the wonders of Marine Biology! Campers will have the opportunity to Surf, Stand-up-paddle, bodyboard, crafts, beach games, and have daily Marine Biology Lessons!
