El Jardín is a four-hour drop-off Spanish immersion experience for children grades TK-8th located on our 2.4 acre plot at the Carpinteria Community Farm. The program studies thematic units, Spanish vocabulary, outdoor learning, sustainability, gardening, and art — all in a Spanish immersion environment. These are small group classes of up to 14 students per group, taught by our amazing and beloved Spanish teachers!
Classes offered:
Pequenos (TK-1st): Students learn new weekly Spanish vocabulary, letters, colors, and numbers; and they enjoy “dirt play,” gardening, art, story time, singing, and dancing — all in a Spanish immersion environment.
Primaria (2nd-4th): Students learn new weekly Spanish vocabulary, outdoor exploration, note-taking, reading, gardening, and art — all in a Spanish immersion environment.
Secundaria (5th-8th): Students learn weekly Spanish vocabulary, outdoor exploration, note-taking, reading, grammar, gardening, and art — all in a Spanish immersion environment.

We meet Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in Carpinteria. Come for one day or both days! Families are strongly encouraged to come both days for better language acquisition.
El Jardín is a year-long program, with fall and spring semesters, meeting 10 am to 2 pm.

Summer Camps
We will be running our Tides Ocean Adventure Summer Camps instead of our El Jardin summer camps this year. Come and join us for fun and safe outdoor sports, beach play, and learning about the wonders of Marine Biology! Campers will have the opportunity to Surf, Stand-up-paddle, bodyboard, crafts, beach games, and have daily Marine Biology Lessons! Tides is a marine biology, hands-on exploration class led by our Marine Biologist, where students learn marine biology lessons and get to explore the beach and tide pools.
